Dawit Tsige made Dereje Haile cry. Dawit Tsege was born in Ethiopia, in the northern part of Shewa.

At an early age, he was between jobs being the jack of all trades and the master of none. However, music has been the most important thing in his life. He went to Addis Ababa to begin his schooling at Bitweded Elementary School and continued his studies at Kara Alo.

He had lots of chances to practice and experience music, especially on the special day when his parents come to school. Dawit Tsige improved his skills and began performing for many people. He became at ease performing for big crowds. In 2015, he won the Balageru Idol show. It is a singing and dancing competition in Ethiopia.

The show was created by Abraham Wolde, a famous Ethiopian music producer, and produced by Balageru Records with the collaboration of EBC. The event at Balageru Idol had a long-lasting impact and altered everything permanently. It changed his life and allowed him to become a better person and a better musician. This helped him connect with others outside of his usual surroundings.

Balageru Idol is a talent show aired on EBC TV in Ethiopia. It belongs to Balageru Records, founded by Abraham Wolde, a musician and entrepreneur. The third season was broadcasted on EBC until September 2015, and Dawit Tsige was declared the winner.
